Executive Directors Note

May I on behalf of the chancellor Prof. Greg Ibe, the Vice Chancellor Prof. Augustine Uwakwe and the Senate and Management of Gregory University Uturu Abia State Nigeria welcome you all to the maiden edition of our annual solution driven Climate Change and Green Economy Conference (CCGEC). This annual event is anchored on our thematic areas of focus across sectors: Governance Mitigation, Adoption, Climate Finance and Technology/ MRV. We will seek to provide research and industry linkages for sustainable development. This year’s theme; Flood Disaster and Impact on Food Security and the solution is biased towards adoption measures. We shall also present several research papers. They include but not limited to the role of media in climate action dissemination; the MSMEs in the climate resilient economy etc.

There will be an investiture of Senior Research Fellows (SRFs) made up of experienced men and women that have become successful in their chosen field of human endeavour. They are expected to active participants in the delivery of the institutes Five project Strategic Plan (2023-2025)

We shall also be including 3 Grandaunts out of 10 trainees from the WAGEDI PEER LEARNING CAPACITY BUILDING SERIES, as Associate Research Fellows (ARF)
